Systematize Success #18 - Best of Productivity Apps, SaaS Tools & Chrome Extensions
Best of Productivity Apps, SaaS Tools & Chrome Extensions
Hi Friends,
And happy Monday!
As an efficiency freak, I spent the last 10 years optimizing my productivity, knowledge management, and data analysis processes.
This week, I am sharing with you all my highest-ROI apps, SaaS tools, and Chrome extensions.
(Links are not affiliates - no conflict of interest as of writing.)
RoamResearch - A note-taking tool for networked thought
I use it for note-taking, knowledge management, writing, journaling, idea-generation, etc.
Simply the most life-changing app I ever encountered.
Google Sheets - no description needed I guess
Still my absolute go-to-app for any data-driven analysis: investing, personal finance, any kind of tracking, ad-hoc models, etc.
Don't forget to use the offline feature - both on desktop and mobile.
Google Sites - free turnkey website builder
Not many people know that one.
I build all my static/publishing websites with it. (https://www.valentin.vincendon.com, https://www.macromegas.com, https://www.systematisesuccess.com)
You can't create an interactive landing page with it, nor can you build an eCommerce website.
But for anything static, it is incredibly simple to use, beautiful, responsive, reliable ... and free.
Perfect to avoid procrastinating with pixel-perfect html/css.
Substack - beautiful & easy-to-use newsletter platform
I switched from Mailchimp because their builder was driving me crazy.
Substack’s only limitation: impossible to integrate with any kind of newsletter referral tool as of writing.
I don't want to write a python script for every quick-and-dirty statistical modelling. Those 2 tools require zero coding, and output a clean dataviz.
ANOVA, PCA, multivariate regression, k-means clustering, etc. -> https://datatab.net/
Box plot -> https://goodcalculators.com/box-plot-maker/
If you ever had to type a table manually, you know this is time you'll never get back.
This tool does the job for you so you can spend more time on Twitter instead.
Among all the tools I tested, it is the most flexible and reliable.
Authy by Twilio - 2FA available everywhere
I was using Google Authenticator... until I had to change phone. Never again.
Authy lets you do the exact same thing, but synchronised between as many devices (phones & laptops) as you want.
Session Buddy - Chrome tabs snapshot save
Allows you to recover all the tabs in previously open windows in case Chrome crashes.
Also allows you to save sets of tabs to reopen them later in one click. Useful to save a work setup or "context".
Roam Highlighter - RoamResearch users only
This tool allows you to extract all your highlights from a webpage to Roam in one click.
An insane time-saver if you consume and summarise lots of information.Crystal - LinkedIn-profile to personality-profile analyser
This tools not only generates reliable personality profiles from LinkedIn, but it also provides you with insightful playbooks for all kind of social situations: sales pitch, hiring, negotiating, etc. ...
Not using it extensively for now, but definitely worth the subscription if you work in sales, in human resources, or if you are interviewing for a job.
Grammarly - advance spell checker
Still only using the free version.
Much more helpful than other spell checker. Especially if you are not a native speaking in English.
"Compare Text Online" - Git for text documents
Probably not something you would use daily, but a lifesaver if you need to compare contract redlines and the other party was enough of a sociopath not to track changes.
Ad Blockers - lots of them
Not going to list them all, but don't forget to install them on the laptops of the older members of your family.
Please don’t forget to share if you think this type of insights can help others:
Thanks for reading, and have a productive week,
V
